POLICE have arrested a third man following two high-value robberies.

The 24-year-old from Cosham was last night being quizzed by police in connection with a robbery at Goulds Jewellers in Highland Road, Southsea, on September 22 and another at H&T Pawnbrokers, High Street, Cosham on September 14.

Two other men have been arrested and charged over the crimes.

Lee Robert Benneyworth, 28, of Leominster Road, Portsmouth, and Scott Jeffree, 33, of First Avenue, Cosham, have each been charged with two counts of robbery.

Both men were also charged with burglary and theft offences relating to a number of garage break-ins last November.

Benneyworth was charged with three counts of burglary and theft and one count of theft from a shop. Jeffree also faces one count of shop theft, two counts of burglary and another two counts of theft and burglary.
