A MISSING tortoise was rescued by police officers while they conducted a drug raid.

Officers targeted a home in Reed Close, Hunston, near Chichester, and discovered class A drugs.

They also found a tortoise, named Chalky, that had been reported missing. A police spokesman said: ‘Chalky is back with his happy owner.’

A 23-year-old man, from London, and a 27-year-old Hunston woman were arrested on suspicion of drugs charges.

They were both bailed until October 6.
