A TRIAL is set to take place over the death of a Portsmouth welder.

Gary Gosnell, 27, pleaded not guilty to causing the death of 70-year-old Mick Daish.

Mr Daish, of Compton Road, Hilsea, was driving through Sidlesham, near Chichester, when bales of hay fell on to his car from a trailer that was being towed by a tractor.

Gosnell, of Blackberry Lane, Selsey, is set to appear before a jury at Chichester Crown Court on May 18 next year.
