TRAVELLERS who moved on to a new multi-million pound housing development have been given their marching orders.

As reported in The News, the group of six caravans and five vehicles drove on to a green space that is part of a development called Dukes Meadow, off Hambledon Road, Waterlooville, almost a fortnight ago.

Developer Taylor Wimpey has served the travellers with an eviction notice.

Police have stepped up patrols in the area, but said there had been no breaches of the peace.

A Taylor Wimpey spokeswoman said: ‘Taylor Wimpey has served the travellers staying at Dukes Meadow with an eviction notice and hopes to resolve the matter soon.’
