TRAVELLERS have moved on to a cricket ground after being turfed off a football pitch.

The caravans and vehicles moved on to the field at West Wittering Cricket Club in West Sussex yesterday evening.

They had been evicted from Bosham Recreation Ground, the home of Bosham FC, hours earlier after the local parish council obtained a possession order from the courts.

Officials at West Wittering Cricket Club are arranging for the removal of the travellers.

The group is the same which has moved across the Havant and Emsworth areas over the last month and has invaded several public areas.
