THREE teenagers were arrested after stables were torched and £7,000 of damage was caused.

Police quizzed the two 18-year-old men and a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of arson after the stables, in a field at the back of Sparsholt Close, Havant, were set alight.

They were later released on bail pending further inquiries.

No-one was hurt in the incident, which happened between 7pm and 7.30pm on Sunday. But the stables and containers nearby were destroyed.

Detective Constable Simon Woods said: ‘Fires around the area of this field in Havant have become more frequent in recent weeks, the latest of which has resulted in a considerable amount of damage being caused.

‘Luckily no people or animals were hurt or killed in the fire, but police would appeal to the public for further information that could assist our investigation.

‘If you have seen anyone starting fires or acting suspiciously in the area please get in touch with police.’
