MAGISTRATES have jailed a man who stole two pairs of trousers.

Joshua Stedman took trousers worth £24 from Peacocks in Gosport High Street on September 27. The 20-year-old, of Cochrane Close, Gosport, pleaded guilty to theft when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

Stedman has previous convictions for burglary and theft and will spend 28 days in a young offenders’ institute.
