Two 13-year-old boys arrested after man is stabbed in the back near Hilsea train station

TWO teenage boys have been arrested after a gang of youths attacked and stabbed a man outside Hilsea train station at the weekend.Â

The victim, 24, was walking away from the station with his girlfriend between 9.30pm and 10.30pm on Sunday night, when they were followed by a group of '˜four or five' youngsters, police said. 

He was then tripped over, kicked, punched and hit in the face with a belt '“ before being chased by one member of the group as he ran toward the junction with Sywell Crescent in Anchorage Park. 

It was there the pursuer stabbed him in the back.

Police have confirmed two 13-year-old boys have now been arrested as part of the investigation into the incident. 

One of them was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm without intent.

Officers said they have also '˜developed other lines of enquiry' following the public response from a CCTV appeal published yesterday.
