A STREET brawl involved more than a dozen people.

The incident was in Somers Road, Southsea, Portsmouth, when two large groups of men attacked each other.

Some of the men suffered injuries and were treated in hospital.

There may have been up to 15 people in the fight, which happened between 1.25pm and 2.10pm on Monday, May 30.

Investigating officer Det Con Pete Bambury, of Portsmouth CID, said: ‘We understand this was a large fight between two groups of people. I’d like to thank members of the public who have given us information already. However, it’s still not clear exactly how the fight started. A weapon may have been used at one point.

‘We’re trying to find more people who were in Somers Road between the Hudson Road and Margate Road junctions during the bank holiday Monday afternoon.’

Four people from Southsea were arrested on May 30 on suspicion of violent disorder and bailed until August 25 pending further enquiries.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101.
