MOTORIST Stephen Bellinger was caught behind the wheel while almost three times the drink-drive limit.

Bellinger pleaded guilty to committing the offence while driving a Ford Focus on the M27 at Portsmouth on March 22.

A test revealed the 52-year-old’s breath contained 94 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres. The legal limit is 35mg.

Bellinger, from Bostock Road, Chichester, was fined £175 by Portsmouth magistrates.

He was told to pay £15 into a fund for victims of crime and £80 in court costs.

Bellinger was banned from driving for two years.

The ban could be reduced by six months.

But first Bellinger must pay up to £250 to complete a government-approved driving course by March 13, 2013.
