UPDATE: Major road and car park reopened after '˜concern for person's welfare'

A BUSY road and a multi-storey car park have been reopened following an emergency incident this morning.

Police and paramedics were called to Osborn Road in Fareham just before 7am amid ‘concerns for a person’s welfare’.

The incident led to the closure of the road – between Osborn Road South and the High Street – and the nearby multi-storey car park, but both have now been reopened to the public.

Fareham Borough Council said this morning the car park would be closed all day, but a spokesperson said on Twitter: ‘Please note that the multi-storey car park on Osborn Road has now reopened. Thank you for your patience.’

A police spokeswoman said this morning: ‘We were called just before 7am regarding a concern for welfare in Osborn Road, Fareham.

‘We are currently at the scene along with colleagues from South Central Ambulance Service.’
