The four had to be cut out from the vehicle by fire crews and were taken to hospital but Sabrina was pronounced dead in the ambulance.

Daniel Charles Smith, of St Issey, near Wadebridge, appeared at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court today where no plea was given.

Mr Smith will now appear in front of Truro Crown Court on November 11 and has been released on unconditional bail.

He also faces charges of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
