POLICE are investigating the robbery of a man who was left unconscious after an assault.

The 22-year-old was walking with two women when they were approached by two men on mountain bikes in Victoria Road North, Southsea.

The victim was punched several times causing him to fall to the floor.

He received further punches and kicks while on the ground. His iPhone4 and Ted Baker wallet were stolen from his pockets.

The two offenders cycled away towards Winston Churchill Avenue.

It took place between 3am and 3.15am on Tuesday.

The victim received cuts and bruises to his face, and was unconscious for a time.

He received medical attention at Queen Alexandra Hospital.

Both suspects were white, in their late teens and skinny.

The first suspect was 6ft tall, had short, dark hair and was wearing a grey T-shirt and grey tracksuit bottoms.

The second suspect was described as 5ft 8in, had short, light brown hair and wore 
a T-shirt and tracksuit bottoms.
