A MAN needed surgery for a fractured jaw after being attacked at a notorious nightspot.
The 26-year-old victim had just left Club 8 nightclub in Guildhall Walk, Portsmouth, and was sitting on some steps with a friend when they were approached by two men.
The attackers targeted one of the men each, breaking the main victim’s jaw. He was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital where he underwent surgery following the attack, which was between 2.30am and 3am on Friday.
His friend suffered minor injuries.
Detective Constable Fiona Wright said: ‘This was an unprovoked assault upon two young men who had enjoyed a night out and were just sitting on steps on the corner of Guildhall Walk before they were to get into a taxi home. I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen either the incident or the group of suspects in the area.’
The first suspect was white, in his mid to late 20s, 5ft 11in, with short, dark hair. He wore a red top or shirt. The second man was white, in his mid 20s, 6ft tall with a medium build and short, dark hair. He wore a white T-shirt.
The attackers were in a group of between three and four men. Call Det Con Wright at Fratton station on 101.
