A DAD of two has told how he was robbed of his £600 bike as he cycled home.

The 46-year-old victim – who does not want to be named – was cycling in Haslemere Road, Southsea, when the robber struck.

He said: ‘There was a car coming up the other way so I slowed down because the road is quite narrow. As I was about to head off again I felt somebody pull me from my bike. It took me totally by surprise. By the time I stood up he was on the bike and legging it. In a way it’s comical – how brazen can some people be? You just don’t expect something like that to happen.’

As reported, the robber cycled off along Pretoria Road towards St Augustine Road following the incident, which happened at about 10.45pm on March 5. It is a Kona ‘Jake’ push bike and is mainly grey, with black and blue on it and the name ‘Keira’ on the frame.

The robber had dark hair, and wore a dark jacket and jeans. Anyone with any information should contact Det Con James Garrett on 101.
