A MAN blacked out after being kicked in the head and face in an unprovoked attack.

The victim was walking in Sheep Street, Petersfield, when he was approached from behind by two men and set upon. He managed to get away and walked towards the Swan Street car park.

Then another man approached him and tried to talk to him, before punching the victim in the head and face.

The victim – a 25-year-old man – fell to the ground to try and protect himself. He then blacked out.

When he came round the attackers had fled.

The victim suffered bruising to his left eye and was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham for treatment following the attack, which happened at about 11.45pm on July 1.

PC Leana Warwick said: ‘This was a totally unprovoked attack where the victim has sustained some nasty injuries.’

The attacker is between 20 and 30, 6ft tall, of a medium build with short, light brown hair. He wore a white checked shirt and blue jeans or trousers. Call PC Warwick at Alton police station on 101.
