A MAN was thrown into a ditch and mugged during an unprovoked attack on a country road.

Police are hunting three men who robbed a man of his wallet on a quiet country road near Bognor.

The 25-year old local man was walking north towards his nearby home, along the unlit B2145 in Sidlesham, at about 2am on Sunday.

He was attacked by three men who bundled him into the ditch and stole his wallet containing his driving licence and two bank cards.

The trio then drove off north in a car described as a silver saloon.

The victim received superficial cuts.

PC Tony Williams from Sussex police, said: ‘If you were in the Sidlesham area in the early hours of Sunday and saw anything suspicious, or have any other information that would help, please call us on 101 quoting serial 0597 of 3/6. You can also call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.’
