POLICE last night arrested a man wanted for breaking the conditions of his early release from prison.

Paul Joseph Heppenstall is now on his way back to jail following his release half way through a five year term for grievous bodily harm. He was arrested in Portsmouth last night.

Police appealed for the public’s help in finding the 30-year-old who they said had shown ‘a blatant disregard for the conditions of his release into the community’.

He was jailed for attacking a member of the public in Eastern Road in October 2009.
