Warning after rise in thefts from sheds

POLICE have warned residents to keep their belongings secure after a number of thefts from sheds and outbuildings.

Eight reports have been submitted to police regarding thefts in the Fareham area in recent weeks.

Serpentine Road and Nashe Way in Fareham have both been targeted twice.

A police spokesperson said: ‘Garden crime is now becoming more and more common.

‘Tools such as lawnmowers, strimmers and hedge-cutters are expensive items to replace and incur extra insurance premiums for the victim.’
