FAREHAM Borough Council has warned residents about people who are claiming to offer home insulation on behalf of the council.

The council has recently been contacted by a number of residents who have been approached by the callers.

Residents have been advised that neither the council nor any company it works in partnership with carries out cold calls.

The council is currently working solely in partnership with the HeatSeeker Scheme operated by the Energy Saving Partnership (ESP).

Representatives of the scheme will only call on households where thermal imaging indicates they may benefit from insulation works and a letter will always be sent first.

Anyone concerned that they may have been approached by a bogus caller claiming to be from the council should call 01329 236100 or email customerservices@fareham.gov.uk.
