THIEVES have targeted 14 vehicles in a series of smash-and-grab raids.

Now police are warning drivers to take care of their valuables after the incidents in Fareham and Gosport.

Taxis were hit and police are telling drivers to remove cash.

Sgt Lesley Meenaghan said: ‘Can I implore the community to report any suspicious activity, such as individuals trying car door handles?

‘By working together we will make Fareham and Gosport a hostile environment for those few individuals who would steal others property.

‘Please don’t give thieves the opportunity to help themselves to your belongings.

‘Remove all valuables from your vehicle and ensure you lock it securely.’
