Prosecutors have released CCTV footage that helped convict a burglar.

The images showing Shane Hayward fleeing from a house he burgled in Horndean were shown when he appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court.

The clip of him climbing up to the home’s window show he was not telling the truth when he insisted to police he had only been walking along the road singing I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles.

Further footage caught him running away trying to cover his face.
