DRINK-driver Katherine Winter has been banned from the roads.

Winter, of Winscombe Avenue, Waterlooville, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Mondeo in Milton Road, Milton, Portsmouth, after drinking too much on September 3.

A test revealed the 36-year-old’s breath contained 88 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres – more than twice the legal limit of 35mg.

Winter was fined £100 by Portsmouth magistrates.

She was also told to pay £15 to a fund for victims of crime and £85 in court costs.

Magistrates banned Winter from driving for 12 months.

However the ban could be reduced by three months on the condition that she completes a driving course by April 12 next year.

Winter must fork out £195 to take part in the course and ensure it is approved by the government.
