Mike and Karen bone, Matt's parents, are asking those taking on the Great South Run to wear a picture of Matt to raise awareness about his disappearance

Karen, 55, said: '˜There is a constant emptiness in our lives without Matt, and a sense of bewilderment at his disappearance, that affects the whole family on a daily basis.

'˜The most difficult times are family celebrations '“ a birthday, or just a special meal '“ and the fact he's not there to share it with us.

'˜He is loved and missed by so many people and we just need to know that he is safe and well.'

Matt was last seen at QA Hospital on March 6, before travelling to Worcestershire, where CCTV pictured him on March 9.

He is white, 5ft 7in and slim with brown hair and blue and grey eyes. On March 9 he is known to have visited the Stanbrook Abbey hotel in Malvern, Worcestershire.

His '˜out-of-character' disappearance has led the Bone family, including Matt's younger sister Katie, to spread the word in the media and online.

Mike Bone, 61, said: '˜Seven months have passed since Matt was last seen and nothing has come to light from police investigations.

'˜We're keen to maintain awareness of his case in the hope that someone may have seen him or have information leading to his whereabouts, so we are asking people taking part in the Great South Run to wear a poster displaying a photograph of Matt.'

Matt's family will be supporting those who wear his picture at the event on Sunday, October 21, where people will complete the 10-mile Southsea challenge.

The poster can be downloaded from the charity Missing People's website: missingpeople.org.uk/help-us-find/matthew-bone-18-001470

West Mercia Police are investigating Matt's case, and anyone with information can call them on 101.
