POLICE have charged a man after uncovering a haul of drugs.

John Corrigan is alleged to have had 5lb 8oz (2.5kg) of amphetamine, the same weight of cannabis and a quantity of cannabis resin when he was arrested in Waterlooville on March 16.

Corrigan, of Forest End, Waterlooville, is facing three counts of possession of a class B drug with intent to supply.

The 38-year-old did not enter any pleas to the charges when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

The magistrates ruled the charges are so serious the case should be heard at the crown court.

Corrigan was remanded in custody.
