A TEENAGER who stole hundreds of lottery tickets has been told to do community service.

Oliver Rogers snatched £292 of National Lottery tickets from Tesco in the Westbrook Centre, Grassmere Way, Waterlooville.

Rogers, of Broom Close, Waterlooville, pleaded guilty to theft when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

He stole the tickets in March.

The 19-year-old was ordered to carry out 85 hours of unpaid work in the next year.

The magistrates told him to pay £50 in compensation to Tesco and £85 in court costs.
