TWO guests were arrested after a brawl broke out at a wedding.
About 10 police officers were called to the Hilton Hotel in Eastern Road, Portsmouth, following reports of an assault after the wedding, which was attended by members of the gipsy community.
But when officers attended the scene at about 12.30am yesterday no complaints were made and they left after the situation calmed down.
Officers were called back to the hotel at about 1.30am after an assault outside the venue.
A 28-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man, both from West Sussex, were arrested. Yesterday they were still being in custody.
A Hilton spokeswoman said: ‘We can confirm that the police were called to Hilton Portsmouth on February 15 at approximately 12.30am, following an incident involving guests who were visiting the hotel for an event.
‘The wellbeing, safety and security of our guests and team members are of paramount importance to us and our security team immediately alerted the police to ensure that the situation was resolved as quickly and safely as possible.’
