THIEVES stole irreplaceable jewellery in a break-in.

Burglars smashed their way in to a home in Aylen Road, Copnor, Portsmouth, through a window in the back door.

Once inside they searched the house and fled with a silver St Christopher, £120 cash and wedding rings, a diamond solitaire and a pink glass costume ring.

Now police are appealing for anyone with information about the burglary, which happened between 2.30pm and 7.30pm on December 16, to come forward.

PC Anthony Langton said: ‘The offender or offenders have taken irreplaceable, sentimental jewellery. I would urge anyone with any information about who might have committed the burglary or where the stolen items might be, to get in touch with us as soon as possible.

‘We would also like to speak to anyone who might have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area of Aylen Road around the time of the incident.’

Anyone with information can contact PC Langton on 101.
