This is when teenage boy charged with Gosport murder is due in court
A teenage boy has been charged with murder after a man was found dead in Gosport.Â
Police discovered the body ofÂ Dr Barry Hounsome, 54, at his home onÂ Southcroft Road on Monday (October 29).Â
The 16-year-old boy was arrested and later charged with murder in connection with the death.Â
He was remanded into custody and is due to appear at PortsmouthÂ Magistrates' Court today (November 2).Â
Dr Hounsome was found dead at the property he shared with his wifeÂ economist Natalia Hounsome.
He wasÂ an academic who had lecturedÂ at universities including University of Southampton and hadÂ also worked at Bangor University, Wales.Â
Dr Hounsome lectured in health science and has conducted studies into diseases including Parkinson's and dementia.
The University of Southampton confirmed Dr Hounsome was last employed in 2014.
It is understood he carried out work at the Faculty of Health Sciences at Southampton General Hospital during his time at the university. Â
