A CROOK stole cash from an 85-year-old woman in a distraction burglary.

The victim was conned after answering the door to a man enquiring about cleaning windows at about 9.30am on Thursday.

She left him at the door and went to the back of the house in Prince Albert Road, Southsea.

However on her return she saw the man coming out of her front room.

He then left the property.

The woman later noticed that money left with a shopping list on a stool in the lounge was missing.

Police believe that up to £100 was stolen.

The suspect is white, 5ft 7in and of an average build, aged in his 60s with short, grey hair.

He was clean shaven and wore a blue top and grey trousers.
