Woman arrested on suspicion of drink driving after A27 crash

A WOMAN has been arrested after a vehicle crashed at a roundabout last night.

Police arrested a motorist on the A27 in Park Gate yesterday evening after a Vauxhall crashed at the roundabout with Brook Lane and Station Road.

A photograph taken at the scene shows the vehicle in the roundabout hedge, just past the Station Road exit.

A spokesman from Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘We were called at 11.34pm last night to a report of a collision in Station Road, Fareham.

‘Officers attended and a 49-year-old woman from Hamble was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

‘She remains in custody at this time.’

The police force’s Roads Policing Unit said on Twitter: ‘The female blew 127 at the roadside, with the legal limit being 35.’

Nobody was seriously injured in the incident.
