Woman attacked by robbers in Portsmouth pub car park

A WOMAN was punched and had her hair pulled as she fought off robbers in a pub car park.

The assault happened in the grounds of the Churchillian pub, Portsdown Hill, late on Friday night.

The victim, who is in her 40s, suffered minor injuries when three people pulled open her car door and tried to take cash from the vehicle she was sat in. They pulled her hair and punched her in the head – but fled empty handed.

A few hours later a man in his 60s had his door opened and an attempt was made to make off with a mobile phone.

Police have issued an appeal to find the attackers.

The first person was a heavily-built white woman, in her early 20s, 5ft 4ins, who wore a low-cut red top. The second woman was also heavily built, white, in her early 20s, 5ft 4ins tall with red hair and wore a green top or dress.

They were accompanied by a white man, who was 5ft 7in.

Police would like to hear from anyone who recognises the descriptions or who knows about the incidents which happened between late on Friday. July 31 and 2am on Saturday, August 1, near Widley Walk.
