A woman in her 40s was found dead in a Portsmouth block of flats this morning, police have confirmed.
Officers from Hampshire Constabulary made the discovery after entering the flat in Roslyn House, Elm Grove, Southsea, at around 10am.
The death of the woman – believed to have lived on her own – is not being treated as suspicious.
Hampshire Constabulary is now in the process of tracing her next-of-kin.
A spokesman for the force said: ‘We can confirm the body of a woman in her 40s was discovered at an address on Elm Grove this morning.
‘The death is not being treated as suspicious.’
An ambulance crew also attended.
A spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance Service said: ‘We were called by police to an address on that road.
‘We sent an ambulance crew to the scene and unfortunately, one person was confirmed deceased at the scene.’
