SHOCKED Jessica Cummings has spoken of her horror after she was glassed during a late-night pub brawl.
The 20-year-old, of Stubbington, was celebrating a friend’s 21st birthday at The Star pub in High Street, Gosport, on Saturday when it happened.
She told The News a woman pulled her hair extensions out and threw a glass at her.
Jessica said: ‘A massive fight kicked off in the middle of the pub – there were glasses being thrown everywhere, tables and chairs.
‘There was a girl recording all the drama and my friends said to her “why are you recording, you should be leaving or trying to help”.
‘She started waving her hands in my friend’s face and I’ve just then pushed them away from each other and gone to walk away.
‘The girl’s friend has thrown a glass at my face and it cracked just below my eyebrow and she pulled all my hair extensions out.
‘I’m quite lucky it wasn’t as serious as it could have been.
‘It’s put a downer on the whole summer.’
Police and the ambulance service were called but Jessica says she had to make her own way to hospital as paramedics took people who were left unconscious in the fighting. Four people were injured in the brawl, police said.
Ambulance crews took one 30-year-old man to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.
Jessica’s mum took her to QA where she had two stitches. She is still suffering from headaches.
‘I’m just lucky, if it was a bit lower I could have lost my eyesight,’ said Jessica.
She is now calling for all pubs to use plastic glasses.
Detectives want to hear from people in the pub who saw the brawl and help find a woman aged 20 with pale white skin and blonde hair with a brown stripe under her fringe.
She is about 5ft 5in tall and a large build. Police say she may have more information.
Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said two men were escorted out of the pub and bouncers dealt with the fight. He claims a bouncer was punched in the face.
‘This was a very distressing incident and we applaud our staff and door staff for dealing with it in a professional manner,’ he said.
Three people have since been arrested, interviewed and bailed by police.
