A WOMAN managed to fight off a man with her stiletto shoe after he sexually assaulted her.
The woman, who is in her 20s, had been on a night out and was walking back to a friend’s house through a park when she was attacked.
The woman was grabbed by the man and pushed against a wall.
The man then subjected her to a sexual assault.
However, she managed to break free after she clobbered him over the head with her high-heeled shoe.
Police say the woman struck the man with considerable force and it is likely he was left with a visible wound.
Officers have now launched a witness appeal following the attack, which happened in Hotham Park, Upper Bognor Road, Bognor Regis.
The assault happened in the early hours of last Thursday, although police have only just released details.
Detective Constable Jon Tizzard, who is leading the investigation at Sussex Police, said: ‘Although the victim did not receive any injuries she was understandably extremely distressed by the incident.
‘It is thought that the offender may have suffered a cut or wound to his head as the victim struck him quite hard with her stiletto shoe in order to make her escape.
‘Do you know someone who had a head injury over the weekend? Or do you have any other information about this attack?’
The offender was described as white, in his mid-40s, with tanned skin and dark, greasy hair.
He was stocky and possibly had a foreign accent.
