A WOMAN was indecently assaulted in Gosport on Saturday night.

Police are appealing for information after a woman reported being indecently assaulted.

The 42-year-old was walking home along Fareham Road shortly after 7.30pm when she was approached by a man.

He spoke to her and then touched her inappropriately.

The suspect, who is thought to have been drunk at the time, is white, around 35 years old, large and fat, about 5ft 10ins and clean shaven. He was wearing a dark hooded top and blue jeans.

DC Gemma Tullett said: ‘The woman managed to get away and, although not physically injured, was shaken by the incident.

‘We’re treating this as an isolated incident.

‘We’re appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen the suspect staggering along the road either before or after.

‘Maybe he was in a pub beforehand. Were you drinking with him?’

Anyone with information should call DC Tullett at Fratton police station on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
