Arrest made after man exposes himself in Portsmouth

POLICE have arrested a Portsmouth woman in connection with an attack in which a victim went blind.

Officers say a 21-year-old woman and her two friends were assaulted by two women outside the POP nightclub in Vernon Walk, Southampton.

Officers say that after the attack she suffered a stroke and has know been left totally blind in one eye and with very little vision in the other.

Police say it was a student night event at the club and are now appealing for witnesses.

The attack happened about 12.40am on Wednesday, May 18 but details have only recently been reported.

The two attackers are described as white, in their early 20s with dark hair. One was of medium build with blonde hair and around 5ft 7 ins, while the other was about 5ft 5ins and of slim build.

A 20-year-old woman from Portsmouth and a 21-year-old woman from Southport, Merseyside have both been arrested in connection with the assault.

They have been released on bail while enquiries continue until August 4.
