DETECTIVES have bailed a woman who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Police had until midnight yesterday to question the 21-year-old, who was arrested after a man sustained life-threatening injuries in an attack, which happened in the early hours of Saturday morning in Timpson Road, Fratton.

A 25-year-old man is fighting for his life in Southampton General Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

The woman was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of attempted murder. She has been bailed until June 22.
