THUGS pushed a woman to the ground in an unprovoked assault.

The 58-year-old woman was in Shirley Drive, close to the junction of Whitelands, Bognor, when she was approached by two men who asked if she had a bag.

When she said no, she was pushed to the ground and suffered bruising and grazing to her cheekbone, hand and knees.

The offenders ran off.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following the attack, which happened at about 6.30pm last Monday.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: ‘The two men are described as being white, of medium build, approximately 5ft 10in and dark haired.

‘The male that spoke is described as having a southern accent.

‘This was a totally unprovoked attack on a woman as she went about her business and we’re keen to find the men responsible for injuring her as soon as possible.’

Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
