A WOMAN had her handbag stolen as she walked through a park.

The 20-year-old was between Lichfield and Southampton Road in Titchfield Common at about 7.30am on Wednesday when a youth cycled up to her from behind and pulled the bag off her shoulder.

He cycled off towards Southampton Road. The victim was not injured.

Her handbag was a large beige satchel-style bag, with a black flap.

Inside was a purse containing several credit and store cards, plus a notebook.

PC Dominic Quinn said: ‘We would like to hear from anyone who saw this incident happen, or who has any information about the person responsible.’

The suspect was white, with mousey brown hair, about 17, skinny and of average height. He wore a blue fleece hooded top, with baggy black denim jeans and dirty white trainers. He rode a dark-coloured mountain bike with rusty wheels.
