A THIEF snatched a woman’s handbag from her shopping trolley outside a supermarket.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the theft in the car park at Asda in Holbrook Road, Portsmouth, on Friday.

The victim had just taken her car keys out of her bag, when somebody grabbed the bag from her trolley.

The thief, who was wearing a dark hooded top, rode off on a bike towards the petrol station and Arundel Street. It happened some time between 4.25pm and 4.35pm as the woman was stood at the boot of her car in the undercover car park.

The bag contained a Radley purse, which contained £140 and credit cards. Call police on 101 with information.
