A WOMAN who stole two bags of shopping has been told to pay £125.

Unemployed Amy McLoughlin, of Lake Road, Landport, Portsmouth, took the shopping from another woman on June 14.

McLoughlin had denied the offence but she changed her plea to one of guilty to theft before her trial at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

The 23-year-old was ordered to pay £100 in court costs and £25 in compensation to the woman she stole the shopping from.

Magistrates also handed her an 18-month conditional discharge.

The money will automatically be taken out of the benefits McLoughlin receives.
