THE Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) met young politicians at a youth cabinet meeting.

Katy Bourne was invited by West Sussex Youth Cabinet to attend one of their meetings at County Hall, Chichester.

Cabinet member Nikki Martin, who took part in the public consultations for the PCC elections, said: ‘I want to make sure young people’s policing needs are included so that we are seen as
active members of our communities.

‘The PCC has shown us that she wants to listen to young people as she stayed for the whole of our two-hour meeting.’

Mrs Bourne, the youth cabinet and youth MPs discussed strategies for reaching young people.

The group recommended joint consultations as a way of reaching young people’s views on policing.
