POLICE have donated £300 to a charity that helps deaf people.

Sussex Police donated cash to Action for Deafness using criminals’ property that had been confiscated by the courts and then later sold.

The charity provides support and advice across West Sussex, including the Bognor area.

Cathy Cobbold, co-ordinator for Action for Deafness, said: ‘In the current financial climate we are struggling to maintain the level of service we provide free of charge.

‘This welcome gift is very much appreciated.’
