Crowds gather in Portsmouth for Armed Forces Day
MEMBERS of the armed forces past and present are being honoured.
Armed Forces Day is being celebrated in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
Music from the Strolling Sirens group serenaded visitors and veterans.
Ex-sapper Paul Hyde, 81, of Seaton Avenue, Copnor, was among those who visited the dockyard.
He said: ‘Present and past service personnel should be remembered for what they’ve done and what they’re doing.
‘It’s very good they have something like this today and I hope they keep it up.’
