A CYCLIST was left injured after a hit-and-run accident

It happened on the A3 in Portsmouth, on Monday.

The 43-year-old rider was travelling towards the Queen Alexandra Hospital when he was hit by a vehicle that had come off Portsdown Hill Road.

The incident happened just after 7am.

The cyclist fell off his bike and sustained a fractured elbow.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

The car, which was silver, did not stop to exchange details or to find out if the cyclist was okay. Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward and to the driver of the car to come forward.
