D-Day museum in Southsea to close Sunday for £4m renovation works

THIS weekend people can visit the D-Day museum for free with renovation work due to start shortly.

The Southsea attraction will be open between 10am and 7pm for its final weekend before is closes for its £4m transformation.

The museum has been awarded the money by the Heritage Lottery Fund to change how the story of D-Day is told - culminating with the 75th Anniversary in 2019.

It will be closed from 7pm on Sunday until spring 2018. For more information visit ddaymuseum.co.uk
