Dad went to work pushing a cart with his supplies all over Portsmouth

Heather Trafford (née Brown), another of Charlie’s daughters, posted it on the Do You Remember... In Portsmouth Facebook page.

She says: ‘Every day he would load up the cart with his supplies and push it all over Portsmouth to his job sites.

‘The photo was taken outside our house, 6 Hellyer Road, Eastney – the one with the red and white shade, blowing in the doorway.’

And Heather’s mum Betty Hartfree (aka Lynn Brown) also gets a look-in in the second picture of a group of women at Fratton Park in the 1950s. She’s in the black coat right of centre.
