SEA damage has forced the closure of a seaside walkway.

Waves washed away soil supporting a section of the concrete Hill Head Promenade to the east of Hill Head Sailing Club.

A Fareham Borough Council spokesman said there was a risk the walkway could collapse because it was unsupported.

A contractor is now repairing the section of the prom and has closed off the walkway as well as a part of the Solent Way footpath.

The prom is expected to be reopened tomorrow.
