Daring Fareham dad to do skydive for Rainbow Centre

The driving instructor, from Fareham, has committed to take part in a daring skydive to raise money for The Rainbow Centre.

This is the second event he has organised for the centre, which the family uses as his son Charlie has cerebral palsy.

Last year he did an abseil down the Spinnaker Tower with colleagues, raising £6,500.

Steve says: ‘We’re actually jumping from 15,000ft instead of 10,000 which is the usual height when skydiving.

‘If we’re throwing ourselves out a plane, then why not go a bit further?

‘This is important to me because of Charlie and how much the centre helps him. It was actually set to be closed down a while ago.’

The skydive is set to take place in Wiltshire on May 14. But even though the event is months away, Steve is already planning the next charity challenge.

He adds: ‘I am looking to set up a wing walk. We thought ‘‘how could we top jumping out a plane? Why not walk on top of one?’’.’
